ArcGIS Spatial Analyst offers a wide range of functions and models
for geographic and spatial analysis integrating raster. With Spatial
Analyst, you can create and query a raster layer, perform analysis
on raster and vector, enhance existing data, query data spread
out over several layers and operate on vector and raster data
simultaneously.
ArcGIS Spatial Analyst incorporates the
following functions:
- Conversion of elements (points, lines and polygons) into Raster
data
- Creation of Raster buffer areas based on distance or proximity
- Generation of density charts from points
- Creation of continuous areas from points
- Computing of maps in isolines, slope maps, orientation maps
and shading maps based on DTM
- Map algebra - logical requests and algebraic calculations
between Raster layers
- Area and neighbourhood analyses between Raster layers
- Cell analysis
- Raster classification
- Use of numerous standard formats such as TIFF, BIL, IMG, USGS
DEM, SDTS, DTED, etc
