Additionnal Functionalities for ArcGIS
ESRI’s software ArcGIS allows the creation, integration, structure and analysis of relative geographical data to a wide variety of users. However, certain simple and essential functionalities (for example, surface area updating) are not directly available to the user. The GSF Outils extension contains a wide range of additional functionalities allowing users of all levels to better and more quickly manage their data in addition to running advanced processes often only offered in ArcEditor or ArcInfo options. The GSF Outils application is presented as an easily accessible toolbar in ArcMap allowing process launches for selected layers inside the data frame. The extension can be use with all versions of ArcGIS (ArcView, ArcEditor, ArcInfo) fix or flotting. The extension contains severals sub-menu regroup by categories of functionnalities.

	One of the principal functionality is the GPS Garmin transfert available directly in ArcMap. With this tool, users can transfert Waypoints, Routes and Tracks from and to his Garmin GPS to or from any layers in the dataframe. The GSF Outils - GPS transfert function will create data in the desired projection. You can also create new Shapefile directly from this interface. Identification, comment and waypoints symbols can be specified using fields from the layer's attributes tables . The Garmin GPS connexion can be serial or USB port and works with the Model 'x' GPS.

	Another interseting function is the Garmin Image creator. With this tool, user can create, manage and send to the Garmin GPS it's own image files. The images are created directly from one or more layers (in any format) directly from ArcMap, using the active dataframe. It is also possible to specify color and label, using the layer's attributes table. The users can save all specified parameters into a "Profil", witch can be use later. Image files can also be sent directly into the GPS, without leaving ArcMap. The Garmin GPS connexion can be serial or USB port. The tool can also generalize the converted features with the douglas-peacker algorithm, to take less space into the GPS memory.

		The menu GeoProcessing contains several advanced functionnalities witch are usually not in an ArcView licence. The menu Gap and overlap contains functionnalities of topologic validation for polygons layers.



2-way direct GARMIN GPS transfer in ArcMap The GSF Outils for ArcGIS extension can directly send and receive data from a Garmin GPS thrue a serail port or USB port.

GSF Outils for ArcCatalog The extension also contains a toolbar within ArcCatalog. The function allows the user to import a database listing to be use as a coded values domains lists.
