Additional functionalities for ArcGIS

ESRI’s software ArcView GIS allows the creation, integration, structure and analysis of relative geographical data to a wide variety of users. However, certain simple and essential functionalities (for example, surface area updating) are not directly available to the user.

The GSF Outils extension contains a wide range of additional functionalities allowing users of all levels to better and more quickly manage their data in addition to running advanced processes often only offered in ArcInfo.

The application is presented as an easily accessible in drop-menus and toolbars in views, tables, page setups and projects.

Like all applications developed by Groupe Système Forêt, GSF Outils is continually evolving. The update feature offers regular updates meeting the ever growing needs of our users.

 
New function at 3.3.31 : Dynamics statistics

The version 3.3.31 adds a dynamic statistics functionnalities (average, sum, etc.) in the views and tables interfaces.

This function produces the same results has the ArcView "Summarize" but offer the possibility to do it on multiple fields.

It is also possible to export the results in text or dBase format.

 
New function at 3.3.30 : GPX files format Import (GPS eXchange)

It is now possible to import GPX files (GPS eXchange) directly in ArcView with this new function. The GPS points, routes and tracks from MapSource (Garmin) or from anmy other software can be integrate et converted in Shapefile format.

The interface allows you to import Waypoints, routes and tracks into features themes of points, polylines and polygones. Many attributes will be imported, such as the description, elevation and time.

When using GPS in harvesting vehicule(Garmin GPSmap 3005 for example) it will be possible to convert GPX format and do a productivity analysis with the SMF Pro extension SMF Pro. For more details, follow this link !

 
New function at 3.3.29 : Copie d'attributs

It is now possible to duplicate database attributs within records of mutliple table or directly in the same.

The function present a simple interface witch works in 2 easy steps.

The first one consist in reading the attributes while the second is to select the destination records. The interface works in a client-server mode on the desttination table as the server.

New function at 3.3.27 : General Snapping

Function permetting to reproduce the manual snapping option during an edit session, for all verticies of a feature with it's neighboor. The function is realize over all the records of a polygon or polyline theme, with the user specifed tolerance allowing to correct rapidly gaps and overlaps.

New function at 3.3.26 : Coordinates calculator

This function allows the conversion of coordinates from one system to another. The positions source can be the point or values from fields already in the table.

New function at 3.3.25 : Exportation in Google Earth (*.kml) format
It is possible to convert one or more themes directly in ArcView to the Google Earth (*.kml) format. The function preserve the themes legend colors and alos give access to use the database for records identification, descriptions and elevation.

New function at 3.3.24 : Exportation in MobileMapper Office format
Minor ajustment for the MobileMapper Office format exportation use with the Magellan Professionnal GPS.
