IPS Inventaire (Inventory) is a very important component of the IPS System. Its min function is the entry of field inventories on a work station supporting Windows 2000, Windows XP or XP Tablet. Other functionalities for importing and exporting data with other software are also available.

Based on a structure resembling Microsoft Access Databases, IPS Inventaire allows the user to enter quickly inventories while being on site, in a user-friendly environment.

With a user-friendly interface, this software allows the laying out of views according to the user's preferences, that way only displaying the necessary information.

The relation between windows makes it possible to quickly browse, with a simple click, all the information available on sampling units, quadrants, studied tree stems, etc.

The software's dynamic configuration allows displaying personalized values lists while entering the data and makes it possible for the user to preset default values.

The keyboard shortcuts (F1, F2,... keys) are parameterizable and when used in combination with other pre-existing functionalities (CTRL, arrows, etc.) reduces greatly the entry time.

Characterized by its great flexibility, this application allows for the importing and exporting of data to and from TIGE, software developed by the Quebec Minister of Natural Resources and Wildlife, for an efficient transfer of surveyed units with the different stakeholders.

The importing of IPS databases, between themselves, is also possible to quickly group data.

The importing of the Cueillette data format is possible, but only with the IPS Prescription extension.

Combined with the handheld computer application IPS Saisie, transferring data is safe and quick for field inventories.

IPS Inventaire is the management utility for IPS Prescription, available for both ArcView 3.x and ArcGIS 8.x et 9.x . It's in this extension that the user will be able to compile the results of the inventories (volumes, basal area, number stems per hectare, etc.) and print out reports and to carry out intervention prescriptions.
